BIO

Jenn was born and raised in Barberton, Ohio, and attended Walsh University, where she earned a BA in Accounting.  She has been working in accounting for over 25 years, first in public accounting and then with private industries, with locations worldwide.  She lived for a few years in Las Vegas when she married her husband, who was stationed there during his time in the Air Force.  Upon his completion of service, they moved back home to Ohio to start and raise their family.  They currently live in Canal Fulton with three children: two daughters and a son, along with three dogs.  They enjoy spending time with family, utilizing the walking trails that go through our downtown area, and getting ice cream at one of the two establishments in their little town.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

I love to learn and challenge myself; however, I appreciate and enjoy the simplest things in life.

What is something most don’t know about you?

When I was young, I used to fish with my dad and grandfather quite often and learned how to fillet a fish. I have not done that in many years, so it may not be perfect today, but if I had to do it to survive, I probably could still do it.

What do you do in your free time?

It depends on the day and how I am feeling. Sometimes, I read or go for a walk around my community or local metro park. However, if there is an activity or event taking place that I have not been to or done in a while, I am up for a good adventure or new experience.

What are your wardrobe constants?

I wear “I can do anything today” shoes and earrings. I do not always wear them together, but on those days when extra comfort and confidence are needed, together or separate, they are a great pick-me-up. I will never tell a soul which pairs those are. A cardigan or sweater is also a must, as I am usually cold and like to throw one on just to take off the chill.

What is something interesting someone has said about you?

While it is not necessarily interesting, it is what has stuck with me over the years. For a writing assignment in High School, we had to write about what we saw some of our classmates doing in the future as a career.  One classmate wrote about me and another group of students.  Everyone had exotic, high-achieving, and exciting careers except mine.  I was only seen as achieving and working as a Wal-Mart greeter!  It was a little embarrassing and disappointing at the time, but it is something I chuckle about today.

What are you proud of?

Hands down, my kids!  I love watching them grow into the individuals they are becoming.  It is a struggle at times as they are teens who “know everything” but seeing them learn and mature from a situation is wonderful to experience.
